EHR Partnerships Manager

Business DevelopmentRemote (US)Full-time

The application window will remain open until the position is filled. This opportunity will remain posted based on business needs.

About the role

The fastest way for Kestrel to reach every independent practice in America is to be built into the tools they already use. That means integrating with EHR systems, not just technically (our engineering team handles that), but commercially. We need someone who can get us in the door, negotiate partnership agreements, and manage ongoing relationships with EHR vendors.

As EHR Partnerships Manager, you'll identify integration opportunities across the EHR landscape (Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, DrChrono, and the long tail of specialty EHRs), build relationships with their partnership and marketplace teams, and drive deals from first conversation to signed agreement. You'll also work with health IT consultants, regional extension centers, and industry groups to expand Kestrel's reach.

This role requires someone who speaks the language of health IT (FHIR, SMART on FHIR, app marketplaces, interoperability mandates) and can translate that into business value for both sides of a partnership.

Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategic alliances in health IT or healthcare SaaS.
  • Existing knowledge of the EHR vendor landscape and how EHR marketplace/integration partnerships work.
  • Experience negotiating and closing partnership or integration agreements.
  • Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, SMART on FHIR, HL7) at a conversational level.
  • Strong relationship management skills. You maintain long-term partnerships, not just close deals.

Preferred qualifications

  • Existing relationships at one or more major EHR vendors (Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Allscripts, Greenway).
  • Experience working at an EHR vendor, health IT company, or healthcare interoperability organization.
  • Familiarity with EHR app marketplaces and certification processes (Epic App Orchard/Showroom, Athena Marketplace, etc.).
  • Understanding of the prior authorization landscape and CMS interoperability mandates (CMS-0057, FHIR-based prior auth APIs).
  • Experience at a startup navigating enterprise partnership conversations with limited brand recognition.
  • Network in health IT industry groups (CHIME, HIMSS, CommonWell, Carequality).

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue EHR integration partnerships based on market opportunity and technical feasibility.
  • Build and maintain relationships with EHR vendor partnership teams, marketplace managers, and technical integration leads.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements including integration terms, data sharing, co-marketing, and revenue arrangements.
  • Manage the end-to-end partnership lifecycle: outreach, pitch, negotiation, onboarding, launch, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Collaborate with engineering to define integration requirements and ensure partnerships are technically sound.
  • Represent Kestrel at industry conferences, EHR user groups, and health IT events.
  • Track partnership pipeline and report on progress, blockers, and opportunities.
  • Stay current on interoperability regulations and leverage mandates (CMS-0057, HTI-1) as partnership drivers.

Compensation

Base salary: $100,000–$145,000 + performance bonus + equity + benefits. Compensation depends on experience and location.
