MarketingRemoteFull-time / Contract

The application window will remain open until the position is filled. This opportunity will remain posted based on business needs.

About the role

Prior authorization is a topic that makes healthcare professionals' blood pressure rise, and that's actually a marketing advantage. Everyone in our target audience has a prior auth horror story. Your job is to find those stories, tell them well, and show how Kestrel makes them a thing of the past.

As Marketing & Content Lead, you'll own Kestrel's content strategy end-to-end: blog posts that rank and resonate, case studies that close deals, email sequences that nurture leads, social content that builds community, and landing pages that convert. You'll also help shape brand voice, manage our marketing site, and collaborate with sales to build collateral that actually gets used.

This role is ideal for someone who can write clearly about complex topics, understands the healthcare buyer journey, and gets excited about turning a niche SaaS product into a brand that people in the industry know and trust.

Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years of content marketing or marketing communications experience, preferably in B2B SaaS.
  • Strong portfolio of published content: blog posts, case studies, landing pages, or email campaigns.
  • Ability to write clearly and engagingly about technical or complex topics for a non-technical audience.
  • Experience with SEO fundamentals: keyword research, on-page optimization, content strategy.
  • Self-directed work style. You can manage an editorial calendar and ship consistently without daily oversight.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience marketing to healthcare professionals, practice managers, or clinical staff.
  • Familiarity with the prior authorization process, revenue cycle management, or healthcare administration.
  • Experience with marketing tools: email platforms (ConvertKit, Mailchimp), analytics (GA4, Plausible), CMS (WordPress, Webflow, or equivalent).
  • Ability to create basic visual content: social graphics, simple diagrams, slide decks.
  • Experience building a content function from scratch at a startup.
  • Understanding of HIPAA marketing restrictions (what you can and can't say).
  • Video content creation skills (short-form educational content, product walkthroughs).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Kestrel's content strategy: blog posts, guides, case studies, white papers, and thought leadership.
  • Write and manage email marketing campaigns: onboarding sequences, newsletters, feature announcements, and nurture flows.
  • Create and optimize landing pages and marketing site content for conversion and SEO.
  • Build sales enablement materials: one-pagers, pitch decks, competitive comparisons, and ROI calculators.
  • Manage Kestrel's social media presence (LinkedIn primarily, plus relevant healthcare communities).
  • Collaborate with the clinical operations team to source customer stories and develop case studies.
  • Track content performance metrics: traffic, engagement, conversion, and pipeline influence.
  • Define and evolve Kestrel's brand voice and messaging guidelines.

Compensation

Base salary: $90,000–$140,000 + equity + benefits. Contract option available at competitive hourly rates. Compensation depends on experience and location.
